NAR-INDIA 8th Annual Convention to be held this weekend, to have a session on smart cities

GoBarefoot: The 8th Annual Convention of the National Association of Realtors-India (NAR-INDIA), a not-for-profit organisation, is all set to be held over August 13 & 14, 2016 in New Delhi.

Organised by Association of Property Professionals (APP), the Convention promises to be the biggest realty event in India, it will bring together industry leaders and experts from across the world to talk about various topics, including development and sustainability of smart cities, both in India and abroad.

With the increased focus of India to have more smart cities that will harness technology and sustainable methods to improve overall development, the event has a special session dedicated to the discussion of this topic which will be led by Mr. Rajeev Gauba, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development.

Other sessions include discussions on market trends, the R.E.R.A. Bill, and how start-ups are forcing change in retail and commercial real estate, among other topics.

As a corporate social responsibility initiative, the Convention is associated with Craftkari, a crafts initiative at Manzil, an NGO which nurtures children and youngsters from low income backgrounds to think independently and reclaim the joy of learning.

Craftkari is owned, operated, and managed by a group of seven girls who are passionate about crafts. They use eco-friendly and sustainable materials to make over 25 different kinds of products. Their aim is to strengthen the socio-economic impact of the women in the community by creating opportunities for economic independence and in turn helping preserve the heritage of handmade crafts.

The Craftkari team will have a presence in the exhibition area at the Convention.

The two-day event will be packed with engaging lectures, expositions, panel-discussions and brain-storming sessions for over 1200 realtors, developers, architects, investors, corporate real estate heads, venture capital firms, equity fund, project and facility managers, property valuers, chartered accountants, and others from India and abroad.
