PREETI CHAUDHARY, founder “LEARN-LOOP”
In the second story of #GoBarefootRealHeroes we are sharing the story of Preeti Chaudhary.
“My passion for kids can be tracked back almost a decade ago when I used to teach at a
Toddler’s school while pursuing my MBA course.
The only thing which got me doing that job was just one simple fact My Love for kids.I get
fascinated by their innocent smile and it gave me immense pleasure spending time with them.
My course got completed, then I got married and life was pacing ahead, But the passion
was still deep down within me. One fine day, I got to see a few underprivileged children
(poor children from slums) outside a temple near our home. They were begging for food and
money. It almost brought tears into my eyes and I could not hold myself back. I approached
them and talked to them.
During the conversation I came to know that they all go to government schools but are not able to understand the teachings there. So I planned to teach them so that they are able to excel at school and complete their studies. I started with a small batch of 4 students
but then eventually they grew up to 21 of them. They are all of different standards varying
from 3rd standard to 12th standard.
I was holding classes at our home for 3 hours every day in the evening.
The kids were starting to understand the subjects. I am not an experienced teacher but with
the help of my educational background I was able to teach them almost all the subjects.
And when I saw them passing their exams with flying colors, I felt
so blessed that I am able to give it back to the society and do such little for these kids.
The joy it gives me to see them all happy is out of this world.
Nothing in this world could fill my heart with such compassion as these kids can do it.
Then with the course of time I started to work on their personality traits like English speaking, dancing,
public speaking etc.Teaching them how to dress up properly and how to greet people.
And these kids have groomed up so well, I can see a big difference in them. We go out for
picnics, go to restaurants for lunches, go to shopping malls & gaming parks, perform cultural
activities like singing, dancing, ramp walk etc.
I want them to gain the confidence to speak to anyone in a public place.
We celebrate all the festivals together like Holi, Diwali, Christmas, New Year,
15th August (Kite Flying), 26th Jan (Indian Flag Hoisting) among the others.
Then I thought to give this entire thing a proper structure, So I planned to open a small
charitable organization called “Learn Loop”.
The name Learn Loop because we wanted the kids to learn everything in life.
Not only education and studies, we wanted them to learn all the
social aspects of life so that they can stand tall enough in the society and not feel
underprivileged anymore. We wanted them to become such, that they are treated equally
amongst others in all walks of life. Time flies very soon and it’s been 5 years now that these
kids are with me and have become an integrate part of my life. I just want to give them a life
just like everyone else. And I want them to have a really bright future.
I want to help as many poor kids like these so that they can lead a happy and successful life.”
We,at Gobarefoot hope that people get inspired from Preeti Chaudhary’s story
and come forward to help the society just like her.
